KS1
Welcome to KS1!
We are making the exciting transition from FS2 into Key Stage 1. Learning about the circus, dinosaurs and polar regions around the world! Our staff are eager to ensure the children gain skills and knowledge through our GROW curriculum. The attitudes enable children to be life-long learners and independently identify how they learn best in multiple subjects and topics.
We are learning to become more independent and undertake new challenges in our learning. We still learn through practical activities, using a variety of resources to make our lessons engaging and enjoyable and keeping us curious!
Phonics Screening - Year 1
During the Summer Term, Year 1 students will take part in the national phonics screening check. This is a statutory reading check that all Year 1 children will undertake. It is designed to ensure children are achieving or working close to the age-appropriate standard for decoding by the end of the year. This assessment helps us understand each child's phonic knowledge in identifying and blending sounds. Please see a parents' information leaflet for phonics below.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
This is being updated throughout the year, we appreciate your patience! Any questions about the KS1 curriculum, please feel free to contact Mr Jones via Classdojo or call the school office.
